Light: Thrives in bright, indirect light but tolerates medium to low light conditions. Variegated varieties generally require brighter light to maintain their beautiful patterns. Avoid harsh, direct sunlight.
Water: Allow the top 1–2 inches of soil to dry between waterings. Water thoroughly and allow excess water to drain. Pothos are forgiving of occasional underwatering but dislike soggy roots.
Humidity: Enjoys moderate to high humidity, ideally 40–60% or higher, although most varieties adapt well to average household conditions.
Temperature: Thrives between 65–85°F. Protect from cold drafts and temperatures below 55°F.
Mature Size: Indoors, trailing vines commonly reach 6–10 feet or longer. When provided with climbing support, mature leaves can become significantly larger. In tropical environments, vines can climb more than 30 feet!
Plant Tip: Pothos are natural climbers! While they look beautiful cascading from hanging baskets, providing a moss pole or wooden plank encourages upward growth and can produce larger leaves over time.
Pet Safety: Toxic to cats and dogs if chewed or ingested.
Plant Tip: Don't underestimate the humble Pothos! Those beautiful trailing vines are actually rainforest climbers waiting for an opportunity to reach new heights. Give them something to climb, plenty of filtered light, and a little tropical humidity. You might be amazed by the transformation!
