Alocasia 'Melo' is a rare compact, tropical houseplant known for its thick, textured, jade-green to bluish-green leaves with prominent veining, often resembling a living sculpture. The jade green to greenish-blue leaves of this plant grow on erect terrestrial petioles. These leaves are thick enough to look like cardboard and confuse you with an artificial plant. Native to Asian Island Borneo, it thrives in high humidity, bright indirect light, and consistently moist, well-draining soil. It is toxic if ingested, so it should be kept away from pets and children.
Alocasia 'Melo' (Alocassia rugosa)
All plants are rooted in soil and shipped in 4" growers pots.
Sunlight 6+ hours of bright INDIRECT sunlight. East or south facing is best. These plants are sensitive to direct sunlight; too much sun will burn your plant’s leaves.
The brighter the lighting the more your plant will thrive. It will tolerate low light levels, but expect slower, more leggy growth with smaller leaves,
Water Prefer moist, NOT SOGGY, well drained soil. Let soil partially dry before watering it again.
